Abstract

The seismic analysis of connected and high-rise buildings has gained significant attention due to the rapid urbanization and the need for resilient infrastructure in earthquake-prone regions. This review synthesizes recent advancements, methodologies, and challenges in the seismic analysis of such structures. Key topics include dynamic behavior under seismic loads, interaction effects between connected buildings, and the role of advanced materials and construction techniques in enhancing structural performance. Numerical modeling techniques, such as finite element analysis and time-history simulations, are critically evaluated for their accuracy and applicability. Furthermore, the review addresses challenges like soil-structure interaction, irregular geometry, and the implementation of innovative damping systems. By highlighting trends and gaps in current research, this study provides a foundation for improving the safety and reliability of connected and high-rise buildings in seismic zones.
