Abstract

It's time for HR to embrace the revolution of the freelancer. Although freelancing is not new, its rapid, global expansion is. The technology that makes freelancing possible is new, and it is transforming how we recruit employees and manage talent along with trends for remote work and flexibility. If HR embraces the freelance revolution in a bigger and more strategic way, it will be more significant than it has ever been.

The labor market is changing. Millions of companies all over the world are switching from traditional employment to hiring independent contractors. These companies' potential is unlocked by skilled freelancing individuals who can handle more work, finish projects more quickly, and solve complicated challenges. Freelancers present an opportunity for short-term, long-term, and highly skilled technical projects. A growing number of businesses use freelancers, who are lone self-employed individuals who are neither employers nor workers and who typically provide temporary services to businesses. It's similar to starting your own firm to set up as a freelancer. While each nation has its own regulations and types of businesses that are open to freelancers, freelancers are becoming more prevalent every year, and many people say making the decision to work for themselves has changed their lives. Going freelance can seem pretty complicated.
