Abstract

This study introduces a novel methodology for mentoring in research careers via the National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN). The NRMN's goal is to make the research workforce more diverse and fair by offering evidence-based mentorship programs that help underrepresented groups deal with the specific problems they experience. The NRMN helps people improve their skills, progress professionally, and move forward in their careers by combining organized training, mentoring matching, and a network of researchers who work together. The results show that this method works well to improve research results, keep people in research, and create research communities that are open to everyone. This report emphasizes the essential function of mentorship networks in establishing egalitarian trajectories for prospective researchers.
