Abstract
Medication adherence and management provide significant issues for healthcare systems across the world. The most successful strategy for enhancing health outcomes may be medication adherence, which also impacts the efficacy of medications. We examine the use of eHealth in primary care patients' medication management journeys, with an emphasis on personalization and intelligent monitoring for increased adherence, in anticipation of the global expansion of eHealth interventions. Every stage of the patient's medication management journey may be transformed with the use of eHealth. From scheduling appointments, seeking advice from a medical expert, making decisions, administering medications, receiving career assistance, gathering and tracking information, and learning about medications and how to manage them in day-to-day living. It may provide monitoring and personalization, which would improve adherence. Evidence is stronger for some of these characteristics, such aiding in decision-making and offering cues and reminders, but more thorough study is desperately required for many others. A delicate balance must be struck between evidence-based technology integration and productive experimentation that may result in a game-changing discovery, given the possible advantages and obstacles of eHealth in medication management. To realize the advantages of eHealth at scale, a coordinated, multidisciplinary strategy tailored to various settings, including low- and middle-income countries, is needed.
