Abstract

Agriculture in India is facing a number of challenges, including decreased agricultural productivity, climate change, and issues of sustainable development. The incorporation of agricultural drones into farming practices contributes to the advancement of sustainable agriculture on multiple levels, including social, economic, and environmental. This paper investigates the numerous benefits that would result from the widespread use of drone technology in India. Drones can be used for a variety of agricultural tasks, such as soil testing for land preparation, establishment of plants, precise agrochemical implementation, management of crop, water management, plant health evaluation, tracking livestock, predicting agricultural organic matter as well as harm, insect pest regulation, and transportation of goods. Drones can also be used in other industries such as disaster management, geo-fencing, and cargo transportation. This article also discusses the steps that the Indian government is taking to promote drone technology. It has been stated that some aspects of using drone technology can be difficult. According to the study's findings, using drone technology results in cost savings not only in terms of money but also time, labor, and water. Also, it decreases the number of chemical compounds used and minimizes human exposure to toxins. Thus, the Indian government should efficaciously implement and utilize the prospects of unmanned drones to revolutionize agribusiness and improve the lives of lakhs of farmers across the country.
