Abstract
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) have become much more common in the last several years because to changes in lifestyle, heavy meals, and the environment. As a consequence, hridroga, which is the Ayurvedic name for heart-related disorders, has grown more widespread. CVDs include a lot of different problems with the heart and blood vessels. Some examples include coronary heart disease, heart attacks, cerebrovascular illnesses including stroke, high blood pressure, peripheral artery disease, rheumatic heart disease, congenital heart disease, and heart failure. Ayurveda says that cardiac problems are mostly caused by imbalances in the three doshas. Restoring their balance is a difficult part of treating CVDs.
Herbal medicines have been an important part of human health care throughout history. Many traditional medical systems have used them to treat a wide range of illnesses. Ayurveda is one of the oldest and most well-known traditional systems of healing in the world. This review study examines the essential function of Ayurveda in the prevention, management, and evaluation of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) via dietary treatments (Ahara), lifestyle modifications (Vihara), seasonal practices (Ritucharya), yoga, daily routines (Dinacharya), and rejuvenation therapies (Rasayana).
The study elucidates Ayurveda's comprehensive methodology in tackling the fundamental causes of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), providing significant insights into preventative measures, lifestyle alterations, and herbal remedies. This review seeks to offer a holistic view of Ayurveda's potential in addressing the increasing prevalence of cardiovascular diseases in contemporary society by integrating traditional wisdom with modern scientific insights.
